RecXtra is a cooperative program with the Middle School that is designed to supplement and enhance the school based after-school activities offerings. The program provides the ability of being site specific and thus better meeting the needs of the school’s administration and the Student Body. RecXtra activities may provide the students opportunities to gain new experiences that they may not normally have at their school or in their community. Students interact with fellow students whom they normally do not interact, and they get to know their teachers outside of just an academic setting.
RecXtra offers students programs to teach them new skills and to be involved in a positive environment. Students have an opportunity to make choices in how to spend their leisure time, can make connections to caring adults and increase their self-esteem. These opportunities will help them make better choices by having these experiences. The RecXtra programs are offered at no charge to the registered participants. |
